Does the 2025 Subaru Ascent Have New Safety Features?
Safety is the most important thing to Subaru, so that is where we'll begin. Not only does the 2025 model year add new safety features to the Ascent, but it also makes more safety features standard than ever before. For example, the Ascent's EyeSight safety suite now includes blindspot detection with lane change assist. This feature alerts the driver to a vehicle in the neighboring lane traveling at a higher speed by illuminating a light on the corresponding side mirror. If the driver activates the turn signal in that direction, the light will flash more intensely to warn the driver that it is unsafe to change lanes in that direction. Rear cross-traffic alert and reverse automatic braking are also now standard for the Ascent, detecting vehicles, objects, and pedestrians behind you, these features work together to prevent a rear collision with audible and visual warnings as well as automatic emergency braking if corrective action isn't immediately taken. Furthermore, automatic emergency steering is now standard for the Ascent. At speeds under 50 MPH, the blindspot detection and EyeSight pre-collision braking systems coordinate to help avoid collisions.
Updates to the 2025 Ascent Trim Level Lineup
For the 2025 Ascent, Subaru has discontinued the Base trim level. The lineup now includes Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, all-new Bronze Edition, Touring, and all-new Onyx Edition Touring Edition. The new Bronze Edition adds an elegant look by building upon the Limited trim with bronze accents throughout. For example, the Bronze Edition rolls on 20-inch alloy wheels with a bronze finish. Meanwhile, the side cladding and intake cover are finished in bronze. This theme continues into the cabin with black StarTex water-repellant upholstery with contrasting bronze accent stitching. Meanwhile, the heated/leather-wrapped steering wheel also features bronze stitching with a matching center spoke insert. Stepping up to the Onyx Edition Touring, you'll get a seamless blend of the Onyx Edition's aggressive blacked-out appearance along with the luxury of the Touring trim. With all the black accents that come courtesy of the Onyx Edition, the Touring part of the name upgrades the cabin with black Nappa leather upholstery with silver stitching, heated and cooled front seats, and a high-grade leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating and green accent stitching.
Standard Features for the 2025 Subaru Ascent
As we mentioned above, Subaru discontinued the Base trim for the 2025 Ascent, making Premium the new entry-level trim. The entire Ascent lineup is powered by the same turbocharged 2.4L flat-four Boxer engine under the hood of the performance-focused WRX, giving the Ascent 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the engine is paired with a LinearTronic continuously variable transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters, which powers the world-renowned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Meanwhile, the Premium trim gives you impressive exterior features like LED steering responsive headlights, heated/power-adjustable side mirrors, body-color side mirror housings, raised roof rails, rear privacy glass, and more. Meanwhile, the cabin is equipped with everything you and your family need for a comfortable ride. This includes tri-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, second-row independent climate control, and much more. The Ascent Premium also features an 11.6-inch StarLink touchscreen, which offers wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, X-MODE, climate controls, vehicle configuration settings, and more.
