Trim Levels of the 2019 Outback

Remaining one of the most versatile and dependable family vehicles across the worldwide market, the Subaru Outback supplies some of the best comfort and functionality in the crossover SUV segment you'll find.  It can keep up with any active driver or family's lifestyle too! The combination of all-wheel drive, a 8.7-inch ground clearance, and two capable powertrains carries the 2019 Outback effortlessly through difficult road conditions and even some rough terrain.  Any equipment, cargo, or supplies can be brought along on any trip within the 2019 Outback's 35.5 cubic-foot trunk space (73 cubic-feet with the rear seatbacks folded). Standard roof rails with integrated crossbars can additionally handle 150 pounds of oversized equipment.  Paired with this already outstanding package of power and functionality, the 2019 Subaru Outback keeps you and your passengers safe with newly included standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology! Every 2019 Outback trim offers a gradually enhanced list of standard features to cater to your lifestyle and creature comfort wants.  We break down the standards provided in each trim so you know exactly which vehicle to shop for!

The first trim of the Outback is equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, detailed below!  It's a sturdy, capable first powertrain that provides some light off-road travel, best suited for handling a variety of road conditions safely and confidently.  It's equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, and comes with hill descent control and hill hold assist to effectively navigate difficult road conditions even at an incline.  Its 108 cubic-foot passenger space is stylish and equipped with comfort enhancing soft touch materials on the doors, dash, and steering wheel. Upholstery comes in black, ivory, or titanium grey cloth.  The 6.5-inch radio touch display provides access to a variety of handy functions, such as MP3 compatibility via two front USB ports, voice configured Bluetooth, Subaru's StarLink, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.  Controls for these settings are mounted to the steering wheel with a series of hands-free buttons, which also lends control over the vehicle's standard adaptive cruise control.

The Premium enhances convenience and comfort with a number of additional features made to make driving easier.  You'll be thankful for the dual-zone automatic temperature control, windshield de-icers, heated exterior mirrors, and heated front seats in the colder months!  Functionality is enhanced with an upgraded eight-inch screen display with optional navigation, two rear-oriented USB charging ports, and a center console storage bin.  Instead of the base model's four speakers, the premium plays radio and music through six. Equipped with Subaru's StarLink, the Premium trim provides an upgrade of immediate help and when in emergency situations.  Automatic collision notifications to local services provides immediate first responder feedback, and SOS Emergency Assistance can be called during any breakdown to provide you with advanced roadside assistance. Available options include a power moonroof, power liftgate, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alerts, and auto-dimming rearview mirrors.

Powering the 2019 Subaru Outback up until this point has been the standard 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine, supplying drivers with a capable 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.  This efficient engine comes rated with a fuel economy of 25/32 mpg, good numbers for an all-wheel drive crossover SUV! The next two trims have choice of either this engine or the more powerful 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder engine.  This V6 generates 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, great for those who need enhanced performance. It comes with an EPA rating of 20/27 mpg, and can even tow up to 2,700 pounds for added functionality! The "flat" classification of these two engines comes from Subaru's exclusive Boxer-style engine, orienting the cylinders parallel to the ground.  This engineering provides a quieter ride thanks to reduced engine vibration, and it lowers the vehicle's overall center of gravity to provide you with a more stable handling. Every 2019 Outback comes in all-wheel drive with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Both engines are also equipped with Active Torque Vectoring to enhance their handling around corners; light brake pressure is applied to the inside front wheel of curves, pushing greater power to the outside wheel instead, overall reducing the chance of wheel spin and sharpening the Outback's dynamic driving.  X-Mode is equipped on select models, optimizing the coordination of the all-wheel drive and other powertrain systems to improve handling and vehicle control across slippery, inclined, or rough surfaces.

Immediately, the Limited makes itself known as a step up in comfort and technology.  It's outfitted with standard perforated leather seats, keyless pin-code vehicle access, and a push-button start up.  Its ten-way power adjustable driver seat comes with lumbar support and two-position memory, and your second-row occupants will love their own heated seats, too.  The entertainment system upgrades to a standard 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio sound system with a 576-watt GreenEdge amplifier. Blind-spot and rear cross-traffic alerts become standard, and while LED headlights are optional on four-cylinder equipped Limiteds, their V6 powered equivalents gain these standard.

The top tier trim is primarily upgraded with new premium materials and detailing; you'll get higher quality leather upholstery, a wood grain detailed dash and door panel elements with silver metal accenting, as well as a standard power moonroof.  All windows of the Outback Touring come with automatic one-touch up/down functions with pinch-sensitive stop. There's also standard automatic high beams and automatic emergency braking for further safety and peace of mind.

Ready for any adventure or trip, the 2019 Outback's well endowed security systems, capable powertrains, and comfort features all make for an enjoyable drive for both you and your passengers.  If you and your family favor a road a little less traveled, or need the extraordinary storage potential of this crossover SUV, then this is the perfect vehicle for you!
